 Your free 1-hour wedding consultation with our expert team of wedding planners will cover a range of topics. So to assist you in preparing for your consultation, we offer this handy Wedding Planning FAQ.
IS THERE ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE?
Flaxton Gardens has a luxury onsite accommodation option available for the Bride & Groom plus their guests (sleeping 8). The Apartment is conveniently situated above the Restaurant with breath-taking views over the Sunshine Coast's Beaches.
WHAT ARE YOUR DETAILED MEETING?
This is the element of your day where everything is made OFFICIAL! We discuss with you components such as where on the property you’d like the ceremony to be held: Our Escarpment, Arbour Area, Restaurant Gardens, or Barrel Room (this is usually reserved for wet weather but we have had couples get married in here in dry weather too!) We also discuss ceremony setup – would you like rose petals down the aisle? A red carpet? How will your music be played – iPod or live musician? And we ensure we know how all the key people are on the day: Groomsmen, Bridesmaids, flower girls, page boys and immediate family!
WHAT DO YOU OFFER FOR FOOD?
Food, glorious food – arguably one of THE most important elements of the day. The food! We chat through menu selections with you – no wedding menu is the same. There are so many options but two of the most popular would be: high tea, cocktail entrée, seated main course and dessert. The other is canapes, seated entrée, seated main course and dessert. We can do lots of other things too such as banquet-style, or buffet-style…alternate drop or a la carte…The choice is yours!
WHAT DO YOU OFFER FOR BEVERAGES?
Generally, we run through all drink pricing with you and our wedding assistants provide guidance on which option is best for you – tab or package. In the past, we’ve seen some amazing things such as special ‘Mr & Mrs cocktails’ to be served to guests after the ceremony or even a Pimms drink station to feature on the terrace in the afternoon. The possibilities are endless!
CAN I BRING A PET?
We love animals! We have some of our own here on the property and completely understand that you'd like yours to be a part of your day. We just ask that;
A) we know about it in advance,
B) your pet is well behaved,
C) you pick up any droppings and
D) they stay for the ceremony only and remain in the ceremony area for that duration.
CAN WE HAVE A DRONE?
Yes! We do just ask that you let us know in advance and that either yourself or the Videographer ensures compliance with the local council for any required permits
IS THERE A WET WEATHER OPTION?
Absolutely, our beautiful Barrel Room is our first stop for signs of rain (discussed the day before and reassessed 1hr prior to the ceremony). Some previous brides have even preferred the Barrel Room over our traditional Arbour ceremony.
DO WE SHARE THE VENUE?
In our standard wedding packages, you are hiring a designated are of Flaxton Gardens, however, if you are interested in having the entire grounds to yourself, we do offer exclusive use. Simply let us know.
HOW SOON BEFORE MY WEDDING SHOULD I BOOK?
While most may say 12 months, we do suggest if you have an especially special date in mind (say 10.10.2019 or 12.12.2012) we would suggest booking even 2 years in advance! 
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENTS AND TERMS?
We ensure everybody is on-track and on the same page during the entire planning process up until the day. There are usually 3-4 payments made in the lead up to the day: initial booking payment, middle payment, accommodation part-payment (if applicable) and final payment. Nice and easy!
CAN WE HIRE OUR OWN SUPPLIERS?
Absolutely! We do have a list of recommended suppliers who are tried and tested at Flaxton, however you are welcome to arrange your own suppliers. We do suggest that you meet your suppliers prior to the big day to ensure your experience will be hiccup-free.
