Weekday Wedding – Marguerite and Glenn

Marguerite and Glenn were married at Flaxton Gardens in April this year, on the Thursday prior to the Easter long weekend. A fabulous idea incorporating a weekday wedding with a long weekend, enabling interstate guests to travel for the wedding and stay for the weekend on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland has so much to offer, and a Flaxton Gardens wedding makes it extra special!

Such a loving couple, with a beautiful ceremony and reception with beautiful words spoken of their love for one another. Their family and friends played a large part in the lead up to and during the ceremony and reception and their bond was obvious throughout the day.

Why Flaxton Gardens?

When we asked Marguerite and Glenn what it was that attracted them to Flaxton Gardens as a wedding venue, they replied, “We knew we wanted a place in the mountains, and when we walked into Flaxton Gardens both of us knew that this was the place we wanted to get married. Not only was it a stunning venue, but the staff made us feel at home straight away and there were so much included in the package in comparison to other places.”  Marguerite mentioned the her sister had attended a wedding previously at Flaxton Gardens and had “raved about the food“, so this also contributed to their decision.

We absolutely loved the mountainous back drop. The venue’s high ceilings and star lighting in the reception area made it magical.

Wedding Styling Options

When it came to styling and decorating the wedding, Marguerite and Glenn were happy they could use the decorations that were already there. This included the chandeliers, woven twine heart, candles, lanterns and wooden boards and candle sticks. Dass Creative created the gorgeous wooden signs, one of which displayed the menu for the reception. The guest list for each table was hanging in a vintage photo frame, made by one of their family friends. Marguerite mentioned that “the staff were fabulous in accommodating our ideas and assisted us in making practical and cost effective decisions.”

To anyone considering Flaxton Gardens as their wedding venue, Marguerite says, “We looked at so many places and I can honestly say that it was the best service we received from the moment we walked into the door.”

“There were so many precious memories throughout the day but it was a powerful moment when we got to make our promises in the presence of God and our loved ones.” – Marguerite and Glenn Moir
