Flaxton is a leafy little village between Montville and Mapleton. Flaxton is a quiet place allowing you to truly escape from the cares of the world.
Flaxton’s eastern side is blessed with spectacular sweeping views that take the eye soaring off the Blackall Range and down to the ocean’s horizon — early risers, prepare yourselves for a stunning sunrise. Flaxton’s western side is blanketed with the verdant subtropical rainforest of Kondalilla Falls National Park, where you can enjoy hikes of varying intensities and spend hours swimming in the refreshingly deep, cold waterhole.
The locality is named after Flaxton Hall Farm in the fens of Eastern England. Joseph Dixon, who originally grew sugarcane at Buderim, selected land at Flaxton in 1882. From 1892 the land was cleared so bananas and citrus fruit could be farmed. Now the region is a foodie haven with local cheeses, produce and our house smoked salmon and beef ribs at Flaxton Gardens.
