The History of Flaxton Gardens
Flaxton Gardens is an award winning destition wedding and events venue in the stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Currently rated in the top 10 in Australia for it's wedding service to couples.
The current management has been at Flaxton since 2009 and now focuses on weddings and cororate events. You will notice a whole new roof line recently installed and the painting is next!
The team has a wealth of hospitality experience having operated their own venues and restaurants in London and across the UK, returning to Australia to develop what you see today. Built up with a family team of support, and experienced hospitality traditions and values. Old fashioned service combined with the modern flow and the genuine relaxed, elegance of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
The property had been owned for close to thirty years by the Anketall family, whose combined talents of a cabinet maker/builder and potter, have created a complex with a relaxed and pleasing atmosphere.
The property was a derelict dairy and they saw it as an ideal location to live and to practice their professions.
In 1980 Flaxton Gardens Pottery opened, along with a kiosk and craft shop.
In 1984 the construction of the larger building was completed and this is where Flaxton Crafts operated. The wine tasting and sales area opened in 1997. Although the initial aim was a working winery with requests from the general public, they saw the true potential of the property was in the hospitality industry.
