Spring weddings are notorious for their sudden downpours and overall unpredictability, but for Sellah and Nicholas, the weather couldn’t have been brighter. Warm sunshine illuminated the Flaxton Gardens Restaurant Gardens and a smooth breeze drifted around the white drapes on the Gazebo. The timing was perfect – the loving couple were married surrounded by blossoming flowers and close family and friends.

After meeting through mutual friends, Sellah and Nicholas soon fell in love and solidified their commitment with a romantic proposal on the beach. Then came the hard part – planning the wedding. Luckily, Flaxton Gardens offered not only a picturesque venue but valuable assistance and advice.

The Flaxton Gardens Wedding Team put together a simple yet elegant theme for the wedding, utilising the Restaurant for the reception and accommodating the couple’s requests. “The colour theme of the wedding was navy blue and white with a touch of gold,” Sellah told us. “Having a family pictures table for family who could not attend was special.”

Following a gorgeous ceremony and reception, Sellah and Nick performed their first dance to Can You Stand The Rain by New Edition. “It describes us loving each other and standing by each other through the good times and the bad times,” Sellah said.

Wedding Highlights

We asked the couple to describe their highlights from the day. For Sellah, “Nick choking up when he was saying his vows,” was a particularly poignant moment during the ceremony. For Nick, simply, “seeing Sellah walk down the aisle,” was the highlight of the day for him.

Flaxton Gardens ensured Sellah and Nick were blessed with a beautiful day of celebration and love. Now they are familiar with the creation of a wedding, the newlyweds left future brides and grooms one bit of advice: “Start your planning super earlier and you won’t be stressed closer to the date.”

If you are looking at a smaller boutique style wedding, Flaxton Gardens’ Restaurant Weddings can cater for up to 60 guests. From $140.00 per head, come and enjoy your reception with us, following your ceremony under the Flaxton Gardens Gazebo or elsewhere. When guests arrive, they will be treated to canapés in the Restaurant Gardens. While you are having bridal photography, your guests can mingle in the elegant Restaurant Gardens with wine barrels and bar stools setup.
